A light easy to handle shingle in a rough sawn finish. |

Characteristics |
Certigrade, red cedar shingles, No 1 Blue label, 100% heartwood, 100% clear and 100% edge grain. Can be CCA treated. Shingles are strapped in bundles each covering approx 2.2m/sq depending on the pitch. |

Fixings |
Each shingle is fixed with marine grade stainless steel staples at least 32mm long. Stables are placed approx 19mm to 25mm from the side edges of the shingles and 38mm to 50mm above the butt line of the course. |

Pitch |
Maximum weatherexposure using 455mm shingle on pitches over 19 degree 140mm. For pitches between 15 degrees up to 19 degrees maximum exposure is to be 105mm. On roofs below 19 degrees a 450mm wide strip of roofing felt or underlay should be laid between each course. |

50mm x 25mm batten spaced to suit roof pitch. |

Underlay |
Use self supproting flame stop roofing underlay. Underlay is fixed under the battens. |

Flashings |
All flashings to be butynol. Where step flashings are used they extend horizontally not less than 75mm up the vertical wall and shall be lapped by the flashig above by at least 100mm, and extend 250mm under the shingle. All valleys flashings to extend at less 150mm on each side. |
